Last summer my neighbors across the street planted sunflowers along their driveway and the front of their house. With their permission and blessing, as long as they could have some prints, I could photograph them as much as I wanted. I traveled across in the early morning and late afternoon, daily, for 2 months and photographed them at every stage of their beautiful lives. I did not know the many phases they go through to get to their peak, which is where most of us know them, all the stages are interesting and magnificent. What a gift for a photographer in a time when travel was not feasible or desired!
